Description: Annual climber, grows very rapidly completing its lifecycle with a season. Stem grows thick with sharp hairs.Simple leaf with a presence of tendril at the leaf node. End of the tendril is split into 3 parts, which coils around the support.Pubescent leaf with 5-7 triangular lobes.Male flowers are borne at the end of the branch in a group of 5-10 flowers arranged in raceme inflorescence. Female flowers appear singly in a leaf axil.Male and female flowers are born on same plant. Bright yellow colour flower look spectacular.Minute hairs on petals. Female flower has a small oblong ovary below the calyx.Fruit is green, oblong, cylindrical and smooth. Differs from Luffa acutangula, which has ribs long fruit length.Many flat seeds are embedded in a pulp.
